Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience helping clients navigate their mental health, substance use, compulsive sexual behaviors, relationship and other issues. I received my Masters from the University of Tennessee in Clinical Social Work. I have worked extensively with families and couples affected by their loved one's mental illness, addiction even assisting in facilitating interventions. Finding and asking for the right help can be overwhelming. My approach is non-judgmental and supportive while creating a space where you can be heard and understood. There are many pathways to change and there is not a one size fits all. Each person is unique and that is why I have training in many different areas and types of therapy. Whether you are struggling with ADHD, Sexual Addiction, life changes or something else, my goal is to empower you to take control of your path and move forward with confidence.
The first therapy session is about establishing a connection and gathering information. It’s the first step on your therapeutic journey, and a time to set goals for our work together. If you have any specific questions or concerns about therapy, this is a good time to ask. It is your time. Our sessions will incorporate practical strategies and creating a toolbox that you can use when meeting life's challenges.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for clients. My background working with families and clients of all ages with a diversity of issues including ADHD, Addiction, Psychosis, Depression, Trauma, Schizophrenia allows me a deeper understanding of the whole person. I want to give my clients concrete tools and confidence to make the changes they want to make.
Seeking therapy is a courageous step and often very difficult. My approach to therapy is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can build trust to begin to delve into the issues affecting your life. My personal journey has allowed me to be able to give back to others especially those affected by substance use combined with mental health issues, such as trauma, depression and other addictive behaviors. As long as a client is willing to talk I will listen.
