New to Grow
I’m a Colorado native who is most at home on a dirt trail, and firmly believes that nature and community are our best medicine. My journey started internationally, spending years leading gap-year students around the world in places like India and East Africa to help them find their footing in a big world. Now, I bring that same spirit of exploration into the therapy room, helping adolescents and young adults heal from trauma, understand their purpose in an ever-changing and challenging world, and navigate life’s messy transitions. Together, we’ll work to turn your "where do I fit in?" into a confident sense of belonging.
In our first session, you can expect a low-pressure space where we focus on getting to know each other and seeing if we’re a good fit. This will be a gentle exploration of what brought you to therapy and your hopes for change; sharing as much (or as little) of your story as you're comfortable with, and starting to create a road map of where we might go together. It's a chance to ask me as many questions as you'd like (though you can do this in every session, not just the first!), and see if my style feels right for you.
I bring two decades of experience working with adolescents and young adults, each of whom brings a unique set of circumstances, beliefs, challenges, strengths, and dreams to our work together. I am committed to being transparent and real, go at a pace that works for you, hold your fears with compassion, and your be your biggest cheerleader for your hopes and goals. While therapy can be hard and painful at times, it can also be fun and playful, and I will do my best to bring both.
You are self-reflective and a change-maker at heart— a young adult standing at life's big crossroads. You feel the world’s weight deeply and might struggle with feelings of stuckness and uncertainty - but are fueled by a quiet, fierce spark to find your own path. You might have dealt with life's challenges through unhelpful coping skills - maybe through doom-scrolling, disordered eating, isolating and shutting down, or even self-harm - but you are ready to sort through the noise, live by your values, and find your place in the world.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you stop struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings. Instead of trying to eliminate "bad" emotions, we work on understanding and accepting them so they lose their power over you. Together, we identify your core values and take small, practical steps toward the life you want to lead. Our goal is to build psychological flexibility so you can handle life's challenges with more ease and purpose.
Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)
The Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) is an evidence-based approach to treating people suffering from serious thoughts of self-harm. I have been CAMS-trained and have utilized it in my work with adolescents and young adults suffering from chronic suicide ideation. This treatment helps us collaborate to understand and address the root causes behind suicidal thoughts, and recognize and build on the reasons for living.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
In my practice, I use mindfulness-based therapy to help you stay grounded in the present moment, and create intentional space between emotion and reaction. By noticing the somatic impact of what arises and practicing compassion, we can stay alive and curious to all of life's experiences.
Interpersonal
Through interpersonal therapy, we can identify your patterns in relationship and community. All humans strive to feel a sense of belonging; but sometimes our disconnected world, our past traumas, and our attachment wounds can make us feel more alone. Our goal is to strengthen your support system and to help you feel more connected and understood.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In our work together, we may use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you find a balance between accepting who you are and changing behaviors that no longer serve you. We focus on building a practical toolkit of skills to manage intense emotions, handle stressful situations, and improve your relationships. By learning to navigate the "middle ground," you can move away from extremes and build a life that feels more stable and meaningful.
