I'm Kate and I've been in the mental health field for years but licensed for 5 years. Facing my own challenges led me into the field and the job of working with others has validated that it has been the right career decision. Walking alongside others in their challenges and seeing them enjoy life again has been a treasure. I thoroughly enjoy my role as a therapist and hope you will enjoy working with me!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect an initial assessment and lots of rapport building as well as questions about what they're seeking from therapy. Goal setting is collaborative and I aim to be supportive in that process. The therapeutic relationship is so important for people to feel safe and supported from the first session to the last.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist seem to be compassion an empathy while holding people accountable for their own feelings without enabling patterns to stay unhealthy.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I enjoy using CBT to identify and confront negative though patters holding people back from enjoying life!
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Using mindfulness and grounding techniques is rewarding to watch in action! Clients learn to use these exercises to slow down racing thoughts and keep them rooted in the present moment.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing helps identify and resolve ambivalence and build motivation from the inside out.
