My work focuses on collaborating with clients on their journey of self-discovery and healing. Painful and difficult emotions often arise after a particular experience or life event, but sometimes it is difficult to understand exactly where they came from. These difficult emotions often lead to a sense of stagnation in life and a sense of disconnect from yourself and/or your surroundings. I have helped individuals work through anxiety, depression, attachment issues, codependency, familial difficulties, trauma, infidelity, burnout, and self-esteem issues. I prioritize the therapeutic alliance and ensure that my time with my clients cultivates a safe and secure space that will allow them to access the most difficult parts of themselves in a deep and meaningful way.
I help clients gain awareness into their inner universe in order to help them understand both their adaptive and maladaptive responses to past and present experiences. Gaining an understanding of one’s inner experience will lead to a deeper sense of love, compassion, and joy not only for oneself but for others and the world.
I utilize integrative psychotherapy as my primary approach to treatment. Integrative psychotherapy combines aspects and techniques from different treatment modalities which allows for the therapeutic process to be tailored to each client's unique needs/experiences. Some of the modalities I draw from to incorporate into my sessions include Depth Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Holistic Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing.
As a first generation Latina, I understand the first-hand difficulties that come with this experience. As such, I consider myself a culturally sensitive therapist to BIPOC clients.
