I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida. With over 15 years of experience, I have worked across a range of settings—including residential, outpatient, medical, school-based, and private practice environments—helping clients achieve optimal levels of emotional and mental well-being. In addition to my clinical work, I bring a unique perspective through my experience supporting student and collegiate athletes, and through my leadership in running a sports organization. This diverse background informs a holistic approach to care that integrates mental performance, resilience, and overall wellness.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and build rapport. I’ll gather more information and explore what has led you to seek therapy. This will help us establish clear therapy goals and guide your journey toward healing and moving forward. We’ll discuss triggers, coping skills, warning signs, and practical solutions to help you make progress in your life.
Having worked with individuals ranging from ages 5 to 70 plus, I’ve come to understand that everyone is unique. However, identifying the root causes of negative thoughts, behaviors, and patterns has helped those I serve find a clear path forward. I collaborate with clients to adjust their perspectives, enabling them to reach a place where they can breathe freely and see life more clearly again.
I have assisted individuals with depression and anxiety in uncovering the underlying causes of their feelings and developing new coping strategies. I also help clients navigate career challenges and explore new passions. My specialties include stress management, life transitions, anxiety disorders, conflict resolution, communication difficulties, and adjustment disorders.
For the past 15 years, I have used CBT as the foundation of treatment to help clients identify recurring thoughts and patterns that may be keeping them stuck. This method assists individuals in recognizing the unhealthy or distorted thinking contributing to their current emotional state, as well as the behaviors that accompany these patterns.
I utilize this practice for clients struggling with mood disorders, as well as struggling with current relationships. Core Principles of Interpersonal Therapy: Symptom relief is linked to interpersonal functioning. Problems are understood within current life events and relationships. Improving communication and relationship skills helps reduce distress.
Narrative therapy helps by allowing individuals to reframe and reshape the stories they tell about themselves and their experiences. It focuses on the idea that we all interpret and make sense of our lives through stories, and sometimes these stories can become limiting or problematic. By exploring and re-authoring these narratives, individuals can gain new perspectives, find meaning, and reclaim a sense of agency and control over their lives.
I utilize this as a tools to help individuals feeling stuck, and needing to work through solutions to move forward in life!
Clients often underestimate their strengths when facing life’s challenges. I use this as an opportunity to help build their resilience, guiding them in navigating solutions and gaining clarity in difficult situations.
