Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) located in Eastern Kentucky. I graduated from Campbellsville University with my masters degree in social work in 2018. I have spent the past 6 years working primarily with adolescents through older adults who have experienced a wide variety of trauma as well as adults with anxiety and depression. My goal is to help my clients develop the tools they need to work through their problems and process their experiences in a safe environment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know one another and explore your current difficulties and challenges. We will prioritize if needed and identify the plan of treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My outlook on treatment is that the client is always in the drivers seat, I am simply the GPS helping you find where you want to go. This outlook allows me to give clients space to discover their answers and provide a safe and supportive space for clients to process things.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with adults and teens who are struggling with negative/traumatic experiences that are impacting their day to day life who are looking to begin processing these experiences to move forward. These clients often feel overwhelmed, anxious, have difficulty with mood swings and may have nightmares or intrusive memories about these events.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR allows us to get to the root of negative thoughts, beliefs and patterns. I use EMDR with patients who have experienced trauma and patients with significant anxiety/phobias to reduce symptoms and allow the brain to replace these negative beliefs with more accurate ones.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I combine CBT often with other modalities including DBT and motivational interviewing to challenge cognitive distortions and shift the way patients view themselves and the world around them.

Trauma-Focused CBT

TF-CBT is a subtype of CBT that is used to process trauma through narrative form. I use TF-CBT with children, adolescents and young adults who are struggling with PTSD to assist in relieving trauma symptoms.
