Hello there, Are you struggling with being able to manage the different areas of your life? Do you feel like you are constantly thinking or worrying about “what could go wrong”? Do you sometimes feel like your past gets in the way of living your life in the moment? I help people struggling with stress and anxiety related to different areas of their life. I also help people heal from their past and current negative experiences and/or trauma. Together we will work on identifying triggers and coming up with effective techniques to manage the stress, anxiety, trauma, and anything else getting in the way of your success. Therapy is an important step and it can be scary and feel overwhelming. My role is to create a safe space for you to share whatever thought, feeling, memory, experience that may be difficult to talk about and to incorporate evidence based techniques to help manage your feelings and prioritize your self-care. You deserve to feel better! I am really looking forward to helping you on your healing journey.
Following our first session together, we will plan to meet once a week for a 50- minute virtual therapy session. In those sessions, we will we will first talk about any current stressors that you are experiencing and process thoughts and feelings related to those stressors. We will then review our treatment goals and discuss progress towards goals. Lastly, we will go over any evidence based technique that is pertinent to your healing goals.
In my therapy sessions, I use different aspects of therapy modalities. For example, if we are working on managing anxiety, I like to use Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques such as reframing and thought challenging exercises. If we are working on healing from childhood trauma, I like to use re-parenting and mindfulness techniques.
I have a lot of experience working with trauma, more specifically complex trauma. Trauma affects the both the mind and the body, so it is important for my clients to understand how trauma affects the individual and explore effective tools that heal both the cognitive and physical symptoms. I also have extensive work with anxiety and found it helpful to use analogies to really be able to help the client understand their experience and be able to offer them support and a sense of normalcy to what they are feeling.
