Hi! I am Victoria Ewing, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, that graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Master's in Social Work and an Undergraduate Degree in Social Work. I am licensed in the State of Kentucky since July 2007 and in the State of Nevada since October 2023. I have worked in outpatient primary care clinics, addiction clinics, medical and psychiatric hospitals, in-home therapy, private practice, and community mental health.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will have a brief introduction, and then we will dive into what your specific challenges are and develop a treatment plan to reach your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral therapy is used to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Techniques might include exposing yourself to situations that cause anxiety, like going into a crowded public space, Journaling about your thoughts throughout the day and recording your feelings about your thoughts. Identifying irrational thoughts and replacing them with rational thoughts to decrease depression and anxiety symptoms.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive processing therapy teaches you how to evaluate and change the upsetting thoughts you have had since your trauma. By changing your thoughts, you can change how you feel.

Couples Counseling

Learning how to communicate effectively with your partner is key to resolving conflict and solving problems. Active listening skills, asking clarifying questions, using empathy, validating one another's thoughts and feelings can improve communication and rebuild trust.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotional focused therapy is a humanistic, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, drawing primarily from attachment theory to facilitate the creation of secure, vibrant connection with self and others. It helps to identify negative processing and interaction patterns that create distress. It's effective in treating individuals, couples and families. This is often used to help individuals to understand the root cause of any attachment problems they may be struggling with.

Motivational Interviewing

This primary goal is to identify ambivalence and work to resolve it. Engage clients, encourage change talk, and evoke motivation to make positive changes. This is often used to treat client's that are struggling with addiction.
