Do you feel held back by experiences you can't seem to move on from? Do you know your goals, but struggle to find the path to get there? Are you looking for a space to better understand yourself, your past, and the person you want to be in the future? I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, and substance use. I am here to help you dive into understanding not only how to grow in the present, but also what pieces have come together to create the person you are today. We don't exist in a vacuum, therefore I take a holistic approach that works with the confluence of mental, social, and cultural factors surrounding each individual. One of the most difficult parts of therapy is choosing to begin. Congratulations for making it this far. I would be overjoyed to walk alongside you as you continue on this journey of growth and self-love.
I use a client-led approach. During our first session I will ask what brought you to treatment. I will ask you about what has worked for you in the past and what hasn't. We will discuss together what you want your treatment to look like and how my skills can best help you. Later sessions are unstructured and focus on what you would like to bring to the table. My goal is to listen and notice patterns of both strength and struggle, and to reflect them back to you. I believe that, in the end, you know best what you need. My job is to act as a mirror, to provide a framework, and to ask the right questions at the right time, so that you can better see and understand your own journey.
I use an eclectic approach, incorporating attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, trauma-informed treatment, and internal family systems. If you are looking to manage short-term challenges, I can also incorporate CBT into our work.
I am calm. I am open. I am curious. Throughout my career, my focus has been helping people process and heal from trauma. A history of trauma can lead to many different present-day symptoms. These might include substance use issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc. My strength comes from my ability to provide a judgement-free space in which you can share the moments that bring you both shame and joy. My theoretical backgrounds help me understand the impacts of relationship dynamics on individual development and different ways you work with the parts inside of you that struggle to get along.
