Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) seeking to offer a safe and welcoming space for individuals to access their own inner abilities to heal. For the past 9 years, I have worked as a therapist for individuals across the life span in outpatient, school-based, and private practice settings. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, perinatal depression and anxiety, and trauma-related stressors. My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and collaborative. I blend cognitive behavioral therapy with mindfulness and somatic-based practices to fit each individual’s unique needs. I welcome members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals of any race, ethnicity, religion, or cultural background. Choosing to begin therapy is a courageous step, and I look forward to embarking on this work with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll take time getting to know each other and you’ll share your hopes for therapy. We’ll collaboratively identify goals, and select treatment modalities tailored to your desires and preferences. At the end of our first session, I hope you feel a sense of clarity about the work we will do and empowerment to get started.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I care deeply about my work and the clients I serve. I bring compassion, attunement, and perspective into my sessions, and believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is foundational for creating change. Over the past 9 years, I’ve become skilled at supporting clients while they identify root causes of distress, shift distorted narratives, and access their innate abilities to heal.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provides a strong foundation for understanding the interconnectedness of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It assists in breaking cycles of rumination and undesired behavior. In my experience, clients find CBT to be a powerful tool for understanding the origins of their maladaptive thinking, and challenging their distorted thoughts.

Trauma Informed Care

Traumatic life experiences can alter our thoughts, feelings, and even our biology. When working with individuals impacted by trauma, I utilize a holistic approach informed by neurobiology, mindfulness, and somatic practices. We work towards experiencing feelings of safety within the mind and body, reconstructing shame-based narratives, and healing deeply seeded wounds.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Many of us tend to live in the past or future, and struggle to feel truly alive in the present moment. Jon Kabat-Zinn, a prominent researcher of mindfulness, describes the practice as “…a simple but powerful route for getting ourselves unstuck, back into touch with our own wisdom and vitality”. My clients report that mindfulness supports them in feeling more connected, awake, and aware of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. This results in an improved ability to sit with challenging emotions, and an increased capacity for self-compassion and joy.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Much of my work is informed by the principals of Internal Family Systems (IFS). The model focuses on distinguishing the authentic self from other “parts” which develop over time as a result of lived experiences. As therapist, I take a peripheral stance, allowing individuals to explore their internal parts, identifying where they come from, what they are trying to protect, and wounds that need to be healed. I’ve observed this work to be eye opening and empowering, deepening self-awareness and accessing innate wisdom to heal.
