I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I find that family dynamic issues is the culprit for all three populations. I come from the school of thought where we are supposed to learn from our past experiences and build on them, so that is one area I tend to stress heavily with my clients. My main job is not to tell someone what to do, but show them how to get to a place they can make that choice.
First session
The first session will be a biopsychosocial assessment and the client should expect a lot of questions about the past.
Strengths
I am a really good listener and have common sense on my side.
Ideal clients
I really have no preference but do lean towards adolescents and young adults who are struggling with the future and the past, trauma informed CBT is an area of interest.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have used this method for over twelve years and it is by far the best with regards to simplicity and results.
Couples Counseling
Many times couples counseling is recommended after meeting with an individual and visa versa.
Gestalt
Empty chair techniques are very good for letting go of baggage.
