New to Grow
As a clinician, I have a person-centered approach. Working with clients includes understanding the circumstances they are in, and identifying the barriers to progress that they may be experiencing. I take an empathetic, strengths-based, and practical approach to helping clients enact positive changes in their life. My goal is to help clients develop the skills they need to feel more balanced and be authentic in their lives.
In our first session, I am most interested to hear about what they’re experiencing that brings them to seek therapy. We may talk about goals if the client feels they’re ready for that, however the most important part of our first session is for me to get to know the client and what they’re experiencing, and for the client to get to know me a bit and experience my clinical style.
As a social worker, I try to understand my clients within the context of their lives and the circumstances they are living in. My approach is empathetic and person-focused, and I try to help my clients develop practical, accessible skills to help them problem solve and move closer to their goals.
I enjoy working with adults who may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or burnout and are seeking ways to cope and feel better about their circumstances. I take an empathetic, strengths based approach to helping clients enact positive changes in their life. My goal is to help clients develop the skills they need to feel more balanced and authentic in their lives.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Through Cognitive Reframing, I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge irrational or negative thoughts (cognitive distortions) and replace those thoughts with more constructive and realistic perspectives.
Psychoeducation
I use Psychoeducation to help clients understand their mental health concerns, and to use that insight to develop effective coping skills.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use a Solution-Focused approach to help clients build solutions to their problems. Using clients’ existing strengths, we collaborate to identify and implement small, measurable steps to change.
Strength-Based
A strengths-based approach focuses on a client’s inherent strengths, resources, and resilience. This is a collaborative approach to treatment and aims to increase self esteem and empower clients to recognize and leverage their strengths to overcome challenges.
