Hello, I’m Mosun, Do you feel alone in this journey of life and wary of discussing your mental health problems? Are you freaking out because your treatment option was not effective? Are you concerned about accessing compassionate, effective and long-lasting care for your mental health problems? I know dealing with mental health problems is not easy, neither is seeking help to meet these needs but I’m here to help. I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, adequately trained to diagnose and treat mental health concerns. I see clients across life cycle with diverse mental health issues ranging from depression, bipolar, GAD, OCD, PTSD, eating disoders, sleep disorders, Schizophrenia spectrum disoders, ADHD, destructive/conduct disorders, personality disorders and many more. However, effective treatment outcome starts from you telling your story but its difficult to tell your story to a stranger hence we strive for a trusting provider-client relationship from inception. A good understanding of your background and the root cause of the problem, then we come up with an individualistic and achievable treatment option. I know mental health treatment is a lengthy pathway but be assured that you will not walk that path alone, we’ll be there together to give it what it takes.
The first session is different from subsequent sessions. It entails gathering comprehensive history; the psychiatric and medical history, laboratory workups and imaging studies as necessary. It is based on these data that a diagnosis will emerge. With the diagnosis, we then proceed to that client centered and achievable treatment option. This usually involves medication and/or psychotherapy. However, some indications like adjustment disorder sometimes requires only talk/psychotherapy to resolve.
As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practioner, I am well experienced in medication management and supportive psychotherapy. Medication management calls for close monitoring, clients are encouraged to reach out and I make myself available and easy to reach. Usually, more than one medication is prescribed because mental disorders are comorbid hence the reason for close monitoring and spacing dosing time to avert interactions. I have experience in brief psychotherapy, utilizing motivational interviews and CBT effectively with good patient outcomes. However, we have competent psychologists, psychotherapists and licensed counselors on this platform and will refer clients if I assess the need for in-depth psychotherapy.
I see clients across life cycle, form age 5yrs to 65yrs and above.

Treatment options for psychiatric disorders are usually medication management and /or psychotherapy. Pharmacotherapy is the treatment option using drugs as discussed earlier. It is noteworthy that this process is not a one-cap fits all. All individuals have unique body chemistry, what works for one may not work for the other hence, management with drugs requires trials with different classes of medications until a suitable meet. The journey to arrive at this unique meet requires patience and understanding. Psychotherapy is the treatment option that identifies and changes abnormal and negative emotions, thoughts and behaviors. There are different psychotherapy modalities and treatment could be individual, family or group based.
