Welcome! I earned my Masters degree in Social Work from Salem State University in 2016. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree of Sciences in Criminal Justice in 2014 after leaving the military. I began my career 8 years ago after a series of valuable life experiences and employment opportunities. I enjoy watching a client get and maintain clarity, regain control over their life and a renewed sense of purpose.
After a brief introduction, I explore what the client expects to get from their sessions with me. I will ask what is working for them now and what hasn't worked in the past. I explain my approach to their targeted goals, and further encourage the client to practice skills and strategies beyond the session time for better results . I help explain clinical concepts in digestible terms using analogies and case examples. My clients frequently feel a sense of relief after their first session.
I enjoy providing the client with a sense of personal agency, individual mastery, and hopefulness, while providing thought provoking feedback. Clients working with me feel heard, respected, and motivated to keep moving forward. I've had clients thanking me for not just agreeing with everything they said, because I challenge them to grow. People closest to me describe me as a "good egg." I also like to laugh with my clients.
This approach explores broad solutions to life challenges rather than focusing on deficits. It presumes that all people are inherently good. This type of therapy is holistic in nature and is an appropriate integration of several other treatment modalities.
Largely seen as the most flexible form of therapy with the highest durability in managing common complaints like anxiety and depression.
This approach is used most when a client is struggling to make behavioral changes. It is most commonly used in the treatment for addiction disorders.
