Hi! I am a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Massachusetts (LMHC). I am dedicated to helping women achieve their personal and mental health goals. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion focus therapy, and mind-body wellness techniques. My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where my clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth and well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, clients can expect: 1. Introduction and Overview: I will introduce myself, explain my therapeutic approach, and outline what to expect in therapy. 2. Discussion of Concerns: We will discuss your current concerns, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to achieve. 3. Background Information: I will ask about your personal history, including relevant medical, psychological, and social background. 4. Establishing Goals: Together, we will identify your goals for therapy and what you want to work on. 5. Creating a Plan: We will start to develop a tailored plan for your therapy, including potential strategies and approaches we might use. 6. Questions and Concerns: You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions and express any concerns you might have about the process. My aim is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where we can begin building a collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist are: 1. Diverse Expertise and Life Experience: proficiency in multiple therapeutic approaches (CBT, mindfulness-based therapy, CFT, and mind-body techniques) allow me to tailor my methods to each client's unique needs. 2. Specialization: my focus and commitment on women issues, including, anxiety, depression, and life transitions, addressing the whole person, including emotional, physical and social aspects, positions me well to address common yet deeply impactful issues with targeted strategies. 3. Compassionate Approach: my commitment to creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment helps clients feel safe and understood, fostering a strong therapeutic alliance. 4. Client-Centered: my emphasis on collaboration and personalized goal-setting ensures that therapy is relevant and effective for each individual. 5. Holistic Perspective: my integration of mind-body techniques highlights my understanding of the interconnectedness of mental and physical health, promoting overall well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to their emotional distress. Through structured sessions, we work together to develop practical strategies for changing these unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. I teach clients skills such as cognitive restructuring, problem-solving, and behavioral activation, which enable them to cope more effectively with life's challenges. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, CBT empowers clients to take control of their mental health and make lasting positive changes.

Compassion Focused

I use compassion-focused therapy (CFT) to help clients develop self-compassion and foster a kinder, more understanding relationship with themselves. CFT involves exploring and addressing the critical and self-judgmental thoughts that often contribute to emotional distress. Through exercises like compassionate imagery, mindfulness, and compassionate letter writing, I guide clients in cultivating feelings of warmth, safety, and acceptance towards themselves and others. This approach helps clients reduce shame and self-criticism, enhance emotional regulation, and build a more compassionate and resilient mindset.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mindfulness-based therapy to help clients develop a deeper awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. Through practices such as mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises, and mindful movement, I guide clients to stay present in the moment and observe their internal experiences without judgment. This approach helps clients manage stress, reduce anxiety, and cultivate a sense of calm and acceptance. By fostering this mindful awareness, clients can better understand their patterns of thinking and behavior, which empowers them to make more conscious and positive choices in their lives.

Mind-body approach

I use a mind-body approach to help clients understand and harness the connection between their mental and physical health. This holistic method involves techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and relaxation exercises to promote overall well-being. By encouraging clients to pay attention to their bodily sensations and physical responses to stress, we work together to develop strategies for managing anxiety, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing physical health. This integrated approach supports clients in achieving a balanced state of mind and body, leading to improved mental clarity, emotional resilience, and physical vitality.
