The first session starts with your needs and goals, together with collecting background information to understand you in the context of your present and past history.
I have a wide range of personal and professional experiences that inform my work.
I help clients with traumatic experiences, better manage anxiety and depression, cope with perinatal challenges, new medical diagnoses or chronic illness. I support those going through family transitions, such as new parents, single parents, and relationship changes. I also work with those experiencing existential, religious, or spiritual questions.
I am EMDR trained (2020) and use as trauma intervention in my practice.
I use DBT with clients struggling with self harm and suicidal ideation.
Building on the client's inherent strengths is an important component of my approach.
