(she/her)
Hi! Are you or a family member concerned about how you have been feeling lately? I can help you! I help clients from age 6 and up. I get so much joy to see my clients stabilize and be able to function in the society in their day to day endeavors. In my free time I actively engage is bringing mental awareness in various communities through public speaking and events. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner (PMHNP) based in Texas and Washington State. I received my Masters from the Texas State University and have been practicing for 3 years as a PMHNP and 20 years as an nurse in various medical settings.
During your first visit we complete a psychiatric evaluation which includes gathering biological, medical, psychological, social histories and completing assessment on how you have been feeling. Your treatment will be individualized based on the goals that you have set. My goal is to partner with you by engaging in a honest and open communication.
I am always seeking to grow my knowledge and skills by attending conference, and reading so I can be of service to my clients. I have strong listening skills and I take time to ensure that my clients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and preferences.
I provide evening and weekend appointment to meet the needs of working professionals and students. I love working with kids having challenges at school with their school work or behaviors. I provide evaluation to determine what they are struggling with and give them tools to succeed. I believe in a holistic approach and will educated you about your condition, provide treatment options, and lifestyle changes to achieve your recovery goals. I have worked with clients of all ages with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive and compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, psychosis, alcohol and other substance use disorders, eating disorders, insomnia among many mental health disorders.
I found CBT also know as "talk therapy" to be very empowering to clients as it helps them change their thought patterns, our conscious and unconscious beliefs, our attitudes, and, ultimately, our behavior, in order to help us face life stressor and achieve our personal goals.
I incorporate secular principles of psychology along with religious values to help my client through crises.
