I am a board-Licensed Mental Health Counselor and an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I received a Bachelor's degree in Human Development/Education from Lesley College and a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. My experience includes advocacy work for children and families, parenting education groups, family education assemblies on substance abuse as well as individual and group therapy in community mental health settings and in private practice. I have also worked with individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders in residential/inpatient settings and partial hospitalization programs. I have a particular interest in working with those who suffer from Anxiety, Depression, personality disorders OCD, Bipolar Disorder, substance/behavioral addictions, parenting challenges, and those experiencing difficult life transitions.
Clients can expect to feel supported, encouraged and empowered after sessions. My goal is for clients to gain insight into themselves, their own strength, resilience and innate health.
I am well versed in traditional therapeutic methods as well as more creative techniques. I strive to build connection and therapeutic rapport while giving my clients the tools they need to succeed.
As a therapist experienced in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients address a wide range of mental health challenges by focusing on the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through CBT, I guide clients in identifying and challenging unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns and replacing them with more balanced and constructive thoughts. This approach helps clients develop healthier emotional responses and behaviors, leading to improved mental well-being. By emphasizing personal strengths and resilience, I tailor CBT to each individual's needs, empowering them to create lasting change and achieve their goals in a structured, goal-oriented manner.
