Hello, I'm Dr. Tori! I am a trauma specialist committed to helping you survive and thrive after crisis, trauma or in times of stress. I am passionate about serving the first responder, military, veteran, medical, and LGBTQ+ communities. I also specialize in mood and borderline personality disorders. My work focuses on building strength and resiliency through a variety of practical techniques. I believe in a straightforward, collaborative approach to treatment built on honesty and humor. I will provide support when you are struggling, push you when you need it and help you use your strengths to find your own unique solutions to move forward in your life.
During our first session together, we will chat and get to know each other. You will also learn a little bit about the treatment methods I typically use so we can ensure you are comfortable with me and the treatment plan we create together. Additionally, we will explore what brought you to therapy and a bit of your history. Finally, we will discuss your goals for our work together so that we can meet your individual needs and establish a plan of treatment that will best help you move forward on your journey towards mental wellness.
My practice blends real-world experience & clinical training to manage crisis, trauma & stress. I have been in private practice since 2017. Before 2017, I worked in public crisis response & management since 2005. I hold both a master's degree in counseling & a Ph.D. in psychology. I am a nationally certified counselor and a certified clinical trauma professional. I am experienced in solution-focused, EMDR, and mindfulness-based interventions. I specialize in treating stress, trauma, mood & borderline personality disorders. I have experience in treating diverse backgrounds & cultures across a multitude of behavioral & mental health concerns, but I have a passion for treating those in the first-responder, medical, military/veterans & LGBTQIA+ communities.
I am an EMDR trained clinician with nearly two decades of real-life trauma & crisis management experience. EMDR is my primary method of treatment.
I am experienced with MBSR and use this as a primary stress management and emotional regulation tool.
I am a certified SFBT trained therapist, and I often blend SFBT with mindfulness-based interventions to co-develop unique solutions with clients.
