Hi there, I'm Stephen. Do you feel like no matter what you do is never enough? There is something more important you need to do. Are you struggling with feeling joy or fulfillment in your relationships, work, health, and spirituality? Is it hard to be kind to yourself or stop overthinking everything? I help high achievers manage perfectionism and imposter syndrome. Together, we can identify what’s not working and get you back on track. We’ll use a whole self approach to meet the needs of your mind, body, and spirit. Whether you’re dealing with low confidence, overwhelm, relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression. I’m here to help. I know taking the first step toward mental wellness is often not easy. I'm proud of you!
My clients see me as a trusted guide. During our first session, I will ask you some questions to get a better understanding of what you are looking for from therapy. We will work together on goals to help alleviate your distress and make meaningful changes in your day-to-day life. In subsequent sessions, we will work towards the goals we identified and address any barriers. At the end of therapy, you will have new knowledge and skills transferable to address future problems for continued progress upon graduation from therapy. Ultimately, you will become your therapist.
First, I'm client-centered. I want to fully understand what is going on. I believe a problem well understood is half solved. My approach to therapy is goal-oriented, skills based and time-sensitive. I assigned therapeutic homework within sessions based on the goals we are working towards and assign assessments to monitor progress and to inform therapy focus. I'm a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, well-trained and skilled in evidence-based (proven to work) treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Exposure Therapy & Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I am also a TEAM-CBT Certified therapist.
As a recovering perfectionist, I come from a stance of compassion and identification; It has emerged from my struggles and those of the clients I'm honored to work with.
