New to Grow
Gabriela Puig, LCSW, is the founder and clinical director of Kind Minds Mental Health Services, a telehealth practice serving teens, adults, couples, and families across Florida. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she blends evidence-based approaches like the Gottman Method, EFT, CBT, and trauma-informed care with a warm, collaborative style rooted in her belief that people grow through what they go through.
Your first session is about getting to know you, not diving straight into a treatment plan. We'll talk through what brought you in, what's felt hard lately, and what you're hoping will feel different. There's no right way to show up, come as you are. From there, we'll work together to figure out a pace and approach that fits your life, not a one-size-fits-all script.
I bring a grounded, real-talk approach paired with clinical rigor. As a bilingual clinician and supervisor, I've worked with a wide range of individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, relationship strain, trauma, and life transitions. I lean on structured, research-backed frameworks, but I never lose sight of the person in front of me. My goal is always for sessions to feel like a space you can exhale in.
My ideal client is a teen, adult, couple, or family who is ready to do real work, whether they are facing anxiety, relationship strain, trauma, grief, or a major life transition. They value honesty over easy answers and want a therapist who blends clinical insight with practical action. They are open to reflecting between sessions, trusting that steady, small steps build toward real, lasting change over time.
I use CBT to help clients identify the thought patterns that fuel anxiety, low mood, or relationship conflict, then build practical tools to shift them. Sessions often include noticing automatic thoughts, testing them against evidence, and practicing new responses between sessions so change carries into daily life, not just the therapy room.
I apply a trauma-informed lens across all my work, meaning I prioritize safety, trust, and choice in every session. I stay attentive to how past experiences shape present-day reactions and pace treatment in a way that avoids re-traumatization while still supporting real growth.
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their own reasons for change, rather than telling them what they should do. This client-centered approach is especially useful for ambivalence, helping people move toward goals at a pace that feels genuinely theirs.
I use EFT to help couples and individuals understand the emotional patterns driving disconnection or conflict. By slowing down and identifying the attachment needs underneath reactive moments, partners can shift out of blame cycles and toward more secure, responsive connection with one another.
I use the Gottman Method to help couples build a stronger foundation through practical tools like structured communication exercises, conflict management strategies, and rituals of connection. This approach draws on research-based principles to help partners deepen friendship, manage conflict productively, and create shared meaning together.
