New to Grow
Hi, I’m Luis Resendez, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience. I specialize in helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, relationships, and life transitions. My approach is direct, compassionate, and focused on real change—not just talk. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready to grow, I’m here to help you get there. Let's work together!
In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you—what’s been going on, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you’re hoping to work on. We’ll explore your goals and I’ll answer any questions you have about the process. My style is warm, straightforward, and collaborative, so you can expect a space that’s supportive but also focused on real progress.
What stands out about my approach is that I keep it real, practical, and focused on meaningful change. I don’t just sit back and nod—I actively work with you to identify what’s keeping you stuck and help you build the tools to move forward. Whether we’re using CBT, EMDR, or just having honest conversations, my goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
I’m best positioned to help individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by anxiety, depression, past trauma, or relationship challenges. Whether you're looking to better understand yourself, improve how you cope, or make lasting changes in your life, I offer a supportive, direct, and practical approach to help you get there.
I’ve used CBT for over 15 years to help clients recognize and shift the negative thought patterns that fuel anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. It’s practical and focused on real change. I guide clients in challenging unhelpful beliefs and building healthier habits, often blending CBT with mindfulness or trauma-informed care depending on their needs.
I use EMDR to help clients process and heal from trauma, especially when talk therapy alone isn’t enough. It works by targeting distressing memories and helping the brain reprocess them in a way that reduces emotional charge. I’ve seen EMDR help clients move past experiences that have kept them stuck for years.
