New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful change. I provide therapy for concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, and self-esteem challenges. My approach is compassionate, structured, and goal-oriented, helping clients build healthier coping skills, improve emotional wellness, strengthen relationships, and gain the clarity and confidence needed to create lasting positive change in their lives.
Clients can expect our first session to be a welcoming and supportive space focused on getting to know you, understanding your concerns, and identifying what has brought you to therapy. During this session, we will review relevant background information, discuss current challenges, explore goals for treatment, and begin developing a plan tailored to fit your individual needs. The first session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions, gain clarity about the therapy process, and determine if the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit.
My professional background in child welfare has provided me with extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating trauma, family conflict, behavioral challenges, system involvement, and major life stressors. This experience has strengthened my ability to assess complex family dynamics, understand the impact of generational patterns and adversity, and help clients build practical strategies for long-term change. As a person of color, I also bring cultural awareness and sensitivity to the therapeutic space, allowing me to support clients from diverse backgrounds with an understanding of how identity, culture, systemic barriers, and lived experiences can shape mental health and overall well-being. My approach combines clinical expertise, real-world systems knowledge, and a culturally responsive lens to help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered in their growth.
I am best positioned to serve adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, stress management, self-esteem concerns, and behavioral difficulties. I work well with clients who are seeking practical tools, emotional support, and greater self-awareness to improve daily functioning and overall well-being. My approach is a strong fit for individuals who are motivated for change, open to self-exploration, and ready to develop healthier coping skills, communication patterns, and emotional regulation strategies.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors that may be contributing to distress or keeping them stuck. Through CBT, I support clients in developing healthier coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and building practical skills to navigate daily challenges more effectively. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and life experiences.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. This approach helps clients identify their own motivations, strengths, and values while building confidence to make meaningful behavioral changes. My goal is to meet clients where they are and support them in taking realistic, self-directed steps toward their personal goals.
Psychoeducation
I incorporate psychoeducation into therapy to help clients better understand their symptoms, emotions, behaviors, and mental health diagnoses. By providing practical information and evidence-based insights, I empower clients to make informed decisions, normalize their experiences, and develop effective coping strategies. This approach helps clients build self-awareness, strengthen insight, and feel more equipped to manage challenges both in and outside of sessions.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and family therapy principles to help clients better understand the different “parts” of themselves while also exploring how family dynamics, relationships, and learned patterns shape their emotional experiences and behaviors. This approach supports clients in identifying protective patterns, healing wounded parts, improving communication, and strengthening healthier relationship dynamics. Through this work, clients can develop greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and stronger connections within themselves and their family systems.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify strengths, build on existing resources, and create practical solutions to current challenges. This goal-oriented approach focuses on what is working, desired outcomes, and small, achievable steps toward meaningful change. Through SFBT, I support clients in developing clarity, confidence, and actionable strategies to move forward effectively.
