New to Grow
I started my journey at Misericordia University and received my Bachelors in Psychology with a mental health intervention specialization. I completed the degree and internship with Public defenders office doing mental health assessments with inmates and those in legal trouble. I completed my master of Social Work degree at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I currently have my license in Clinical Social Work and a clinical addiction specialist. I worked with Foster parents, adoptive parents, and birth mothers through the process of adoption and the emotions that come with it. I also have extensive experience with trauma, personality disorders, and women's issues. I enjoy working with wide varieties of people and will meet each client where they need!
The first session will be all about getting acquainted and building rapport. I will ask you 1 million questions and give you a little bit about me to build rapport and find a starting place that fits each client individually. We will talk about what is bothering you most and decide where you would like to start and go from there.
I am very empathetic and understanding. I will not force anything or listen to my clients thoughts and recommendations about their own care. Therapy is collaborative and I won't assume I know more about your symptoms than you do!
I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients and concerns. I am particularly inclined to be more laid back and more focused on being relatable and building rapport. Comfort is a number one priority for me. I have a lot of experience with working with women's issues, post partum issues, fostering adoptive struggles, personality disorders, and general anxiety and depression.
