Originally from New York, I moved to Florida to continue my education and pursue a career in mental health. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Work from Florida International University and earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 1998. I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida in 2001. Over the past two decades, I’ve worked in various therapeutic settings—including community mental health centers, domestic violence programs, private practice, and school-based counseling. Since 2003, I’ve served as an ESE Counselor with the Broward County School Board, supporting students with special needs. As a parent of two adult children with special needs, I bring a deep sense of compassion and understanding to my work. My clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, ADHD, couples, and working with children and families.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is all about getting to know you—what brings you to therapy, what you're hoping to change or understand, and how we might work together to support your goals. We'll begin by exploring: -What’s been feeling difficult, stuck, or painful lately -Any personal or family history that feels important -What you've tried before (in therapy or on your own) -What you’d like to get out of therapy—whether that’s symptom relief, clarity, emotional growth, or all of the above This is also a time for you to get a feel for me and how I work. I’ll answer any questions you have about the therapy process, and we’ll talk about what our sessions might look like moving forward—whether we’re working with CBT tools, exploring deeper emotional patterns, or both. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You set the pace. My role is to create a safe, supportive space where you can start to feel understood, grounded, and hopeful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to build authentic, trusting relationships across a wide range of clients—including adults, couples, and children. I offer a grounded, compassionate presence while also encouraging clients to face difficult truths and take meaningful steps toward change. My therapeutic approach stands out because I integrate the practical, goal-oriented techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with the deeper, insight-driven methods of psychodynamic therapy. This allows me to tailor sessions to meet clients where they are—whether that’s helping a child regulate emotions, supporting a couple in rebuilding trust, or guiding an adult through patterns rooted in early experiences. Clients often tell me they appreciate how I balance empathy with clarity and how our work helps them not only relieve symptoms but also grow in self-awareness, emotional strength, and relationship satisfaction. I take pride in fostering long-term, sustainable change that extends beyond the therapy room.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with adults, children, and couples who are seeking meaningful change, emotional relief, and a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships. Many of the clients I work with are: -Adults feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or low self-worth—especially those who are high-functioning but inwardly struggling to cope. -Children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral challenges, emotional regulation issues, or difficulty adjusting to changes at home or school. -Couples navigating communication breakdowns, trust issues, or feeling disconnected—looking to strengthen their relationship through healthier dynamics. Whether you’re a parent worried about your child, a couple wanting to reconnect, or an individual navigating life transitions, I offer a space where we can work together to move beyond short-term fixes and into lasting emotional clarity and growth. I blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Psychodynamic insight, which means we’ll work on both practical tools for immediate relief and explore the deeper patterns that may be shaping your current challenges. What You Can Expect: A supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. Evidence-based strategies to manage symptoms like anxiety, depression, or emotional dysregulation. A collaborative process tailored to your unique story, goals, and pace. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, improve your relationships, and develop healthier ways of thinking and feeling—I’d be honored to support you.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my clinical practice, particularly with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. CBT appeals to me because it offers a structured, evidence-based framework that empowers clients to recognize and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. CBT’s collaborative and skills-based nature allows clients to take an active role in their healing process, and I find it especially effective when clients are motivated to practice tools between sessions. Depending on the client’s needs, I also integrate elements from other modalities like psychodynamic therapy to support deeper insight or emotion regulation.
