(she/her)
You do not have to live like this anymore. Have you been stuck or struggling for so long that it's hard to imagine your life feeling any differently? Maybe you're not even sure why you're feeling the way you do? Or, you know why, but certainly feel like you can't say why out loud to anyone you know... I help adults with depression, anxiety, and trauma break out of dysfunctional patterns with compassion and scientifically proven strategies. Let's get your sleep, relationships, job, school, parenting, friendships, hobbies, health, eating, and happiness back on track without those pesky intrusive/racing thoughts, flashbacks, panic attacks, self-hatred, and dread. It sounds simple but it won't be easy. I often describe therapy like surgery - it is usually necessary to address a problem deep inside that may require a messy, costly, painful, inconvenient process that may save your life. You really don't have to live like this anymore. I am here to help you heal for good. **Sliding Scale Available**
The first session is spent exploring your goals for therapy and the presentation of the problems you want to address. I want to get to know you as a whole person to inform the way we approach treatment.
I like to make therapy approachable, relatable, and tangible. I want you to walk away feeling like you made progress.
Adults who want to improve their anxiety, depression, trauma reactions, stress, and relationships.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify problematic thought patterns (i.e., cognitive distortions and underlying maladaptive schemas) that influence thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that contribute to current symptoms in order to improve thinking styles (i.e., cognitive restructuring and reframing interventions) to develop more adaptive coping strategies and improve overall well-being.
Gender-affirming therapy
I follow the WPATH Standards of Care (https://wpath.org/publications/soc8/) in order to support healthy gender identity and expression.
Trauma Informed Care
I first work with clients to identify goals for treatment. Not everyone benefits from exposure-based treatment approaches (e.g., CPT) to treat trauma. I help clients establish grounding, relaxation, and coping strategies before exploring traumatic experiences (if necessary). We go at the pace that works best for the client.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I teach clients how to use DBT skills to more effectively manage intense emotions, self-harm or suicidal behaviors, interpersonal challenges, and distress tolerance.
Grief Therapy
Every loss looks and feels different. I help clients better understand their thoughts and feelings related to loss, then we work to develop strategies on how to more effectively carry that loss.
