My mission in counseling is to provide compassionate support while we work on improving your quality of life. Since becoming an LPC, I have worked with ages 12 and up to process and manage a variety of struggles, such as, trauma, depression, anxiety, issues with self-worth and learning healthy communication. Some modalities I access are talk therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and SFBT. (Solution Focused Brief Therapy). I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and have used those techniques in therapy. Not every approach works with every person. Therapy is individualized. I feel the power is within the client and the goal is to empower each to find their healing path.
In the first session we will begin with an introduction, and we will review answers on the intake form. I want to understand what brought you to counseling and discuss what you hope to achieve through counseling. I want to know your strengths and motivations as well. I will explain my process and expectations and we will determine if we are a good fit in discovering the path to your best life.
I provide compassionate listening. By helping clients process past and present issues, I have seen clients find their way through reassurance and validation. I feel the relationship between counselor and client is extremely important and vital to success. I feel I have succeeded in building strong, trustworthy relationships that help clients invest in themselves through therapy.
I have worked a great deal with clients struggling with self worth and lack of boundaries. I enjoy seeing clients become empowered as we tackle these issues.
