Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas. I am a Certified Board Christian Counselor. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have trained under the prestigious Trauma Research Foundation. I bring a trauma-informed approach to therapy to attain healing and wholeness. I use a three-step approach 1) Heal from your past trauma. 2) Learn new skills to avoid further abuse. 3) learn how to navigate life in a healthy, balanced way.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse, has allowed me to witness the devastating effects in the spirit, mind and body. I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
My heart is in working with adults who have had traumatic experiences and abuse in their lives. Childhood abuse can carry over into all relationships like family, friends, or work as adults. Trauma and abuse can leave your life feeling shattered. Whether it is a one-time traumatic incident or chronic abuse from abandonment, neglect, or narcissism, to name a few. I love to see the healing and restoration that takes place.
I am a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor. This method works with the spiritual aspect, of a person.
I am trained in Gottman Level II for couples. Using a clinical assessment through the Gottman Institute, we can see where there are roadblocks. The Gottman method has skills that couples learn to work through their issues. I am also a Certified SYMBIS facilitator. Save Your Marriage Before It Starts. Using an assessment couples can see how compatible they are. Couples can also see where there are areas they need to work on.
I am trained DBT. Using a skills book with home work skills training includes: Mindfulness, Distress tolerance, emotional regulation, Interpersonal effectiveness, and walking the Middle path skills. DBT gives skills that help navigate life and its triggers.
I am Trained in EMDR and can do this virtually. EMDR is used to process traumatic events to desensitize and reprocess them. It is mostly used for PTSD from a traumatic incident or for chronic trauma due to abuse.
I use this approach to teach how to manage problems by how one thinks and behaves. CBT focuses on how your thoughts and beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.
