Hi there, I'm Betty. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or major life changes? Maybe you're experiencing a lack of healthy boundaries in relationships or aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs, I am an experienced licensed mental health counselor who works with those struggling with relationship issues, grief, trauma, mood disorders, boundaries, anxiety, depression, daily life struggles etc. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery. Transformation and healing are obtained by developing a positive outlook and the adoption of new attitudes and responses. My purpose as a therapist is to help you along the path to a functional and fulfilling life. Whether the obstacles to achieving this goal are habits and behaviors you want to change, relationship issues, or present and past traumas. We will work together to develop a comprehensive plan to alleviate or minimize stressors and struggles. The goal is to move in positive directions while establishing healthy coping skills. There are many reasons that a person may seek counseling. Facing hardships in life can be very difficult, especially when trying to navigate them alone. Letting others into our pain and circumstances can be scary. It can also be a time for immense growth. Therapy can provide both support and hope as you work towards a greater sense of wholeness and healing. I enjoy helping people gain a greater sense of identity and purpose through a creative, emotionally focused, and experiential approach to therapy. Whether dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome any challenges and barriers holding you back. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I offer something unique in that I integrate multiple types of evidence-based practices with each client. I believe in finding what works for you and what brings the most change and help to your situation. My commitment to you is to offer you a safe environment that fosters healing, growth, and happiness.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

To help the client identify and challenge negative thought patterns contributing to their emotional state.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness, from a therapeutic, secular perspective is a conscious awareness of our present moment. This includes openness and non-judgment about the experience. It is often coupled with other types of therapy, such as Cognitive-based Therapy (CBT)

Couples Counseling

In my practice, I utilize a client-centered approach, tailoring my methods to meet the unique needs of each couple. I begin by creating a safe and non-judgmental space where both partners feel heard and understood. Through techniques such as active listening, role-playing, and conflict resolution exercises, I help couples improve their communication and rebuild trust. I also incorporate evidence-based strategies from [specific therapy approaches] to address underlying emotional issues and strengthen the relationship. My goal is to empower couples to develop healthier patterns of interaction and to foster a deeper connection with each other.
