Hey, I'm Cortney, and I'm here to help! I fully believe the foundation for success in therapy is rooted in the therapeutic alliance between therapist and client. In this partnership, I bring authenticity, flexibility, empathetic understanding and compassion. Therapy is not a one size fits all experience. My approach is intentional, eclectic, and strengths based to best suit your needs as we move through this journey together. It is my genuine belief that everyone is the expert on their own life, but often times we need a little bit of help to unlock our greatness. I hope to be that help for you. In my 10 years in the mental health field, my work has predominately been with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and people diagnosed with ADHD as adults. I have extensive experience in working with people with co-occurring mental illness and intellectual disability. Over the years I have adapted more traditional interventions to suit the unique needs of this population. I continue to strive to provide gender affirming care and I am committed to creating a safe experience for members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. I am here to hold space with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Often, I will open a session by asking the question, "how can I be useful to you today?" My hope is that with each session the person I am working with leaves the session with something that helps create movement towards healing. Perhaps, a new skill, a fresh insight, a validating experience, or simply a safe space for an emotional release.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

EMDR Motivational Interviewing Mindfulness Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Internal Family Systems

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

To each session, I show up as my authentic self. I bring my humanness, my sense of humor, and my honesty always. I am trained in EMDR and this has quickly become one of my favorite tools in helping people process unaddressed trauma and/or to challenge and replace self limiting beliefs.
