Courtney Juliano
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides a warm, supportive, and authentic space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other challenges that may be impacting their well-being. My approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and person-centered approaches. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself while also being gently challenged to grow, develop healthier patterns, and build confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.
First session
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe strong rapport is an important part of effective therapy, so I don’t expect you to share everything right away or have all the answers. During the first couple of sessions, we’ll focus on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and creating a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. My goal is for you to leave feeling supported and confident that you’ve found a therapist you can genuinely connect with.
Strengths
I bring warmth, authenticity, and a genuine sense of compassion to my sessions. I work to create an environment where clients feel safe being honest and vulnerable, while also feeling supported and gently challenged when needed. I believe therapy should be collaborative, and I tailor my approach to each person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. One of my strengths is helping clients make sense of overwhelming thoughts and emotions and turning those experiences into practical, manageable steps forward. I strive to help clients build self-awareness, self-compassion, confidence, and a stronger sense of safety within themselves and their everyday lives. My goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling heard and understood, but also with greater clarity and tools they can actually use outside of therapy.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes, even if they aren’t sure where to begin. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I have a particular passion for supporting women through different stages of life. As a mother myself, I feel especially connected to women navigating pregnancy, the postpartum period, and the challenges of raising children while trying to care for themselves, too. I strive to help women reconnect with themselves, build self-compassion, and feel more supported and confident in their everyday lives.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients identify connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and develop healthier ways of responding to challenges.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use CPT to help clients process difficult or traumatic experiences, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop a more balanced understanding of what happened.
Motivational Interviewing
I use MI to help clients explore their own reasons for change, work through uncertainty, and build motivation toward goals that are meaningful to them.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I help clients identify their strengths, recognize what is already working, and focus on practical steps toward the future they want.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I prioritize creating a warm, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is an important part of the healing process.
