New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with various types of mental health diagnoses and needs. I have degrees in Speech Therapy as well as Counseling. I specialize in anxiety, depression, stress-related and relationship issues, among many others. I have a passion for treating with a trauma informed lense even when trauma is not the initial reason for seeing therapy.
My approach to therapy includes identifying the problem or problems and creating a plan to solve them, known as solution-focused therapy. I have a passion for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, but I believe that one size does not fit all, so your plan will be individualized to you. I want to create a safe, warm and inviting space for you to share your deepest feelings and concerns with me. That starts with taking time to build a trusting relationship with each other as we peel each layer of the onion back to get to the core of who you are and what you want to achieve by participating in Therapy. Please send me a message if there is a time you need that is not available.
What I have been told what makes me stand out is my personality that makes people feel heard and safe in my presence. I strive to be a great listener, confidont and professional shoulder to cry on when life's challenges seem too much to handle alone. I believe that the working therapist-client relationship and patience is imperartive to progress toward the client's goals.
My ideal client is a client who wants to be here, who chose to be here, and one who wants to heal by being here. As your therapist, I work for you so I will use our time together to get to know you and your needs to ensure I am giving you the best experience I can with therapy. If we come to a conclusion that we are not a good fit for each other or my skill set does not match your needs, I will do my part and refer you to a more qualified professional. So now I ask you, what are some characteristics of your ideal therapist?
