Hi! I am Dr. Lucas Hall, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Kentucky with 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience working with clients who experience depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, work/professional concerns and LGBTQ issues. My style is warm and open. I work to create a space in which clients feel empowered to be open and honest while working to identify areas of growth and change and to move towards those areas. It takes great courage to admit that you need help. I am here to walk with you on your journey toward change and improving your quality of life.
We will take the first few sessions to delve into what brings you to therapy and identify goals and areas for growth. Then we develop a plans that is realistic and achievable for you, this will include some "homework" outside of weekly sessions. During session we will explore your progress, any difficulties you are having and work on moving through them. I want to ensure that you moving towards a place where you are able to live your life to the fullest extent.
My strengths are my ability to truly see you for who you are. I am empathetic but can also challenge you and be firm when needed. I am down to earth and feel that this makes me relatable and able to help you find realistic and accessible solutions and ways to manage any problematic areas you've identified.
I utilize DBT based techniques to work on emotional regulation, distress tolerance skills and improving interpersonal relationships.
I utilize CBT to work on changing underlying thoughts and beliefs that affect our behaviors and emotions.
I utilize MI to work on assessing intrinsic motivation for change and helping to find motivating factors to move towards that change.
