Treatment methods
Christian Counseling
Grace Upon Grace Services (Alex Siford, LPC) is an evidence-based counseling service, influenced by the Christian faith. Working with a licensed therapist, you will be encouraged and challenged to change in healthy, meaningful ways.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge distorted thought patterns and beliefs that negatively influence their emotions and behaviors. By replacing these irrational beliefs with more realistic perspectives, the counselor guides the client in developing practical coping strategies to manage specific life challenges.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
In Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I will place the focus on your future goals and existing strengths rather than overanalyzing past problems or pathologies. The therapist uses specialized questioning techniques, such as the "Miracle Question," to help the client visualize a preferred future and identify past "exceptions" when the problem was less severe to build practical, immediate solutions.
Trauma-Focused CBT
In Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), I hope to help guide you through the PRACTICE components, which begin with stabilizing through psychoeducation and stress management skills. The therapist then leads through gradual exposure by helping create a trauma narrative, which allows the client to process painful memories in a safe environment and reframe distorted beliefs related to the traumatic event.
