I have a Master's degree in clinical psychology, and am passionate about what I do. Helping clients reinvent, re signify and solve their own life problems is the best reward to my practice. I believe that the power of a good psychotherapy process lies in its ability to help my clients understand themselves better, address their emotional psychological challenges, and make meaningful changes in their lives. I also believe strongly in the transformative power of connection and communication, and know that psychotherapy is the key to evolve and learn new skills that may be hidden inside someone. I am simply a facilitator of my client's own awareness, their emotional healing, and their growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will explore what brought you to therapy, what are your goals, as well as what you are willing to do to achieve them. We will also focus on building a positive and caring professional relationship, based on skills, care, knowledge, and high quality of care.my

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My contributions to you are to have all of my specialized training and expertise at your disposition. My empathy and non-judgmental skills are also part of this journey, and my commitment will be to "see" and "hear" you. You can bet that at the end of our sessions you will know you've got personalized care, and my commitment to guide you during your treatment.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients explore and understand their emotions and patterns of behavior, and develop self awareness, insight and understand why they repeat patterns. It also helps clients process emotions, improve their relationships and promote long term changes. Additionally this approach looks at the whole person, considering emotional, cognitive and relational aspects of a client's life, providing a deeper understanding of their inner conflicts.

Trauma Informed Care

I became a certified trauma informed therapist to help clients impacted by trauma. This approach emphasizes the physical, psychological and emotional safety of clients. It helps with trust building, empowerment, understanding of trauma responses, and helps avoid re-traumatization, at the same time that it promotes a more holistic way to understand the whole person. It aims to help with resilience and improve coping skills, and bring long-term healing to those who were victims of trauma.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Being born in a different country, and speaking other languages gave me the ability to acknowlege abd respect the cultural, racial, ethnic and social differences of my clients.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is widely used as well as it is very effective to help identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. I use it with clients who need help changing maladaptive behaviors, who need help developing coping and problem solving skills, and also to address underlying negative core beliefs, which impact their day to day lives.
