Hi, I’m LaShaun Perry, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and integrative wellness-focused provider.

I’m known for creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their care. My goal is to help you gain clarity, find relief, and build lasting wellness—one step at a time. If you’re looking for a provider who combines clinical expertise with a personalized, whole-person approach, I would be honored to partner with you on your mental health journey.

First session

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a treatment plan that fits you. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel comfortable sharing what’s been going on. During this visit, we will talk about: your current symptoms and concerns your emotional health, stressors, and daily functioning sleep, mood, energy, and focus medical history and current medications past mental health treatment (if any) your goals for care and what you hope to improve This first session is usually more in-depth than a follow-up visit because it helps me understand the full picture of your mental health and overall wellness. What We’ll Do Together By the end of the session, we may: review possible diagnoses (if appropriate) discuss treatment options talk about whether medication may be helpful identify practical next steps and supportive strategies create a personalized plan for follow-up care What You Can Expect From Me You can expect me to be: compassionate and respectful thorough and attentive collaborative (we make decisions together) focused on treating the whole person, not just symptoms You do not need to have everything “figured out” before your first appointment. Just come as you are. We’ll take it one step at a time.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to combine clinical expertise with a compassionate, whole-person approach to care. Clients often tell me they feel truly heard, understood, and not judged, which helps them feel more comfortable opening up and engaging in treatment. What stands out about my approach is that I focus on the mind-body connection—not just symptoms or a diagnosis. I take time to understand the full picture, including mood, stress, sleep, lifestyle, medical factors, and daily functioning, so treatment is more personalized and effective. I also believe in creating treatment plans that are both evidence-based and realistic. Whether we are discussing medication management, coping strategies, or wellness support, my goal is to help clients make steady progress in a way that feels sustainable. Clients who work well with me often appreciate that I am: thorough and attentive warm, supportive, and collaborative focused on both symptom relief and long-term wellness committed to helping them feel empowered in their care decisions My goal is not only to help clients feel better, but to help them gain clarity, stability, and confidence as they move forward.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to serve those who are carrying a lot and are ready for support that feels compassionate, thoughtful, and personalized. My ideal client may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, perinatal mental health concerns, stress, burnout, or other emotional challenges that make it hard to feel like themselves. Often, they are looking for more than symptom relief. They want to feel understood, regain balance, improve daily functioning, and build a stronger sense of well-being. I work best with clients who value a collaborative approach and want a provider who will listen closely, provide thoughtful medication management when appropriate, and support them in a way that honors the whole person.

Treatment methods

Mind-body approach

I use a mind-body approach regularly in my practice as a PMHNP because I’ve found that mental health symptoms are rarely “just mental” or “just physical.” Anxiety, depression, trauma responses, mood instability, sleep problems, and even attention concerns are often influenced by a combination of brain chemistry, stress load, lifestyle habits, medical conditions, and life circumstances. In practice, this means I treat the whole person—not just the diagnosis. I start with a comprehensive assessment that looks at: psychiatric symptoms and history sleep, energy, and daily functioning stress, trauma, and coping patterns medical factors, medications, and possible contributors nutrition, movement, and routines social support and (when important to the patient) spiritual beliefs/values I then build a treatment plan that may include medication management when appropriate, along with nervous system regulation strategies (breathing, grounding, mindfulness), sleep support, behavioral changes, psychoeducation, and coordination with therapists/primary care providers. I focus on practical, sustainable steps so patients feel empowered—not overwhelmed. My goal with the mind-body approach is to help patients get symptom relief while also improving overall wellness, resilience, and long-term functioning. It’s a collaborative, evidence-based way to provide care that respects each person’s full experience.

I felt like LaShaun took the time to listen, asking all the needed questions to determine my needs. She provided feedback without being critical. I was made to feel comfortable in telling her what I'm going through without feeling judged.
