My name is Amber and I have over a decade of counseling experience and quickly build a therapeutic rapport with people. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work with a certification in addictions. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR therapy. I have worked with diverse populations, including military veterans and clients of all ages, races, genders, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am passionate about helping people find health and wellbeing in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first therapy session, I will focus on building a connection and establishing rapport with you. The session will likely begin with introductions, and I will explain the confidentiality aspects of your sessions. I encourage you to ask any questions or address concerns you might have. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any relevant background information. It's an opportunity for you to open up about your experiences, and I will gather vital information to guide your future sessions. It will be an insightful and supportive starting point for your therapeutic journey. Individuals I work with often describe sessions to provide comfort and relief beyond their initial expectations.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My capacity to authentically embody non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate qualities is coupled with a steadfast commitment to empowering my clients. I am dedicated to helping them recognize their strengths and realize the full extent of their capabilities.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help individuals change their behavior by increasing awareness of their pattern of thoughts. I like CBT because it is a goal-oriented approach that encourages active collaboration between therapist and client and provides tangible strategies for managing symptoms.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR and like to use this alternative form therapy to help clients address past memories and current thoughts that cause them distress.

Mind-body approach

I like to incorporate a mind-body approach into all treatment sessions, because there is a significant correlation between the physical symptoms and the way we think and perceive the world around us.
