Pam Wessel
I believe healing begins with feeling safe, seen, and supported. My goal is to provide a compassionate space where you can show up as your authentic self while working toward meaningful change. My work is informed by advanced training in betrayal trauma, relationship therapy, and suicidology, as well as my own lived experiences. I bring warmth, honesty, and practical tools to help you navigate challenges and build stronger relationships—with yourself and others.
First session
The first appointment is when we get the chance to meet either in person or virtually to go over the paperwork filled out before your appointment, office protocol, informed consent, privacy practices, and we discuss what brought to make an appointment. I do my best to give you something coping skills or resources before the hour appointment ends.
Strengths
Clients choose to work with me because I offer more than just a listening ear—I help you understand what’s actually driving your patterns and give you clear, practical tools to create change. I bring a unique combination of clinical training and lived experience, allowing me to connect with clients in a way that feels genuine, relatable, and safe. My style is warm and compassionate, while also being honest and growth-focused—so you feel supported, but also challenged in the ways that lead to real progress. If you’re ready to better understand yourself, improve your relationships, and move forward with more confidence and clarity, we’ll work together to get you there.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are individuals and couples who feel stuck in unhealthy patterns, overwhelmed by emotions, or disconnected in their relationships, and are ready to create something different. They’re willing to be honest, do the work, and learn practical tools to build healthier, more secure connections. I enjoy working with people from all walks and ages in life. I never want anyone to feel that they are walking this journey alone.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is used by understanding how our thoughts impact our feelings, and how our feelings impact our actions. When we are able to change that narrative we are able to change the whole situation because we are looking at it from a different lens or perception.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Teaches practical skills to help you regulate emotions, handle stress, and respond more effectively instead of feeling overwhelmed or out of control.
Gottman method
Helps couples communicate better, reduce conflict, and feel more connected using proven, real-world strategies.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Supports you in slowing down and staying present so you can respond with intention instead of reacting on autopilot.
Attachment-based
Helps you understand your relationship patterns and build more secure, connected relationships moving forward.
