My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Address how thoughts and behaviors are interconnected, breaking negative thinking patterns, emotional regulation of triggers. CBT is based on several core principles, including: Psychological problems are based, in part, on faulty or unhelpful ways of thinking. Psychological problems are based, in part, on learned patterns of unhelpful behavior. People suffering from psychological problems can learn better ways of coping with them, thereby relieving their symptoms and becoming more effective in their lives. CBT treatment usually involves efforts to change thinking patterns. These strategies might include: Learning to recognize one’s distortions in thinking that are creating problems, and then to reevaluate them in light of reality. Gaining a better understanding of the behavior and motivation of others. Using problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations. Learning to develop a greater sense of confidence in one’s own abilities. CBT treatment also usually involves efforts to change behavioral patterns. These strategies might include: Facing one’s fears instead of avoiding them. Using role playing to prepare for potentially problematic interactions with others. Learning to calm one’s mind and relax one’s body.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy is a form of psychological counseling that focuses on the client-therapist relationship and the expression of emotions. It is based on attachment theory, which looks at how early attachment experiences with primary caregivers affect the development and functioning of individuals. Attachment-based therapy can help people with various emotional and relational problems, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, jealousy, rage, rejection, loss, and commitment issues.

Gender-affirming therapy

This applies to adults and youth, and we can start with using the right pronouns in addressing them. Gender affirmation can also include procedures to transition an individual.

Narrative

Narrative therapy is a style of therapy that helps people become—and embrace being—an expert in their own lives. In narrative therapy, there is an emphasis on the stories that you develop and carry with you through your life.1 As you experience events and interactions, you give meaning to those experiences and they, in turn, influence how you see yourself and the world. You can carry multiple stories at once, such as those related to your self-esteem, abilities, relationships, and work.

Grief Therapy

Grief therapy, also known as bereavement therapy, is a form of therapy intended to help you cope with loss, like the death of a partner, family member, friend, colleague, or pet. The death of a loved one can cause both emotional and physical pain that can sometimes impair your ability to function. Grief therapy is a kind of psychotherapy used to treat severe or complicated traumatic grief reactions, which are usually brought on by the loss of a close person (by separation or death) or by community disaster. The goal of grief therapy is to identify and solve the psychological and emotional problems which appeared as a consequence.
