Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I offer a free 15-minute phone consult, and then if it seems we might be a fit, our first session will be you sharing what's hurting and what you're struggling with. I do all telehealth. We'll get to know each other and see how things go, and decide together what good next steps might be.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I focus on my clients, and do my best to remember the details that matter. Your experience is central.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have a lot of experience supporting clients through major life transitions, whether it's going to college or graduating, getting married or breaking up, dealing with challenges with family such as aging parents or alcohol use by loved ones, while also trying to deal with the very challenging realities in the world around us, from financial pressures and economics, climate catastrophes, wars, and politics. It is hard to be a human these days. My experience is centered on supporting clients dealing with lifelong patterns from attachment traumas, complex PTSD from childhood, growing up in poverty or with addiction, or having parents whose own limitations impacted us and caused harm. If you're sick of getting stuck in the same painful patterns, HMU, we should talk.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Feeling safe and secure in our relationships is key to feeling better overall - and the real goal is feeling safe and secure in our own bodies, minds, and lives. Attachment-based therapy helps you process the traumas from your past (what are someties called "attachment wounds") which can result in anxiousness, avoidance, over-sensitivity and heightened reactivity to emotions, and other difficulties that make life harder than it needs to be. Attachment-based counseling can also help you know who you are, and feel more centere and grounded, and confident in the decisions you have to make as you navigate a complex modern life. This modality is focusing on talk therapy to help with self-understanding, while working to build trust together. It's part of the psychodynamic tradition of therapy.
