Hello! I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) working remotely. I got my MA in Counseling with a focus on forensic psychology from Adler University in downtown Chicago. I have been practicing since graduation in 2020 and have served in various areas including community mental health and private practice. I am also a veteran and love to serve the military and their families. My practice is currently in a phase of growth, and I am excited to expand my reach through an online platform. As an eclectic therapist, I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client. This flexibility allows my to draw from various modalities and techniques to best support my clients in their journey towards healthier lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, limits of confidentiality, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am passionate about helping people navigate their challenges and discover their inner strengths. Witnessing my clients make positive changes and achieve their personal goals is incredibly rewarding. My goal is to provide a compassionate and empowering space where individuals feel understood and supported as they work towards their mental health.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a structured, time-limited, and goal-oriented form of therapy. Clients can learn that their behaviors, thoughts, and feelings are interconnected and influence each other. For example, negative thought patterns could lead to negative emotions and behaviors, creating a vicious cycle. Clients can learn to identify and challenge their negative thoughts and replace them with more well-balanced and realistic ones, feeling more empowered and in control.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is about accepting the things that clients cannot control and focusing on actions that could make their life better. ACT starts with assessment and goal setting, moves into psychoeducation about the ACT model, continues to mindfulness and acceptance techniques, values clarification and commitment and ongoing practice and reflection.

Trauma Informed Care

TIC involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of trauma. In therapy, it is important to first create a safe environment, understand trauma's impact, collaborate between client and clinician and empower client, build trust and transparency, and integrate a holistic perspective.

Eclectic

I have many years of experience in combining techniques from various therapeutic approaches to best meet the individual needs of the client. It starts with assessment and understanding the client, then developing a personalized treatment plan, flexibility in technique application, and building a strong therapeutic relationship and incorporating psychoeducation.
