I am a therapist that finds it extremely important to make a connection with you so you can trust me with your life events. I want to create a calm and supportive space where you can explore your story at your own pace. I draw on evidence-based practices and a trauma-sensitive lens to help you process the past, understand your everyday patterns, and cultivate resilience. I honor the courage it takes to seek support, and I walk alongside you as you discover your capacity for growth, connection, and renewal.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, I will be up for any questions you may have for me, and I will be honest with you about my life. I will work to make connection with you so that you feel comfortable and accepted by me. I will be asking lots of questions and this is, so I have a good idea of what direction to go and come up with a great plan with you to start your journey to a healthy state of mind as well as confidence to get to the next step toward your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist and as a human being I take on a trauma informed approach with anyone as I believe that letting you communicate at your pace, provide a space for you to make choices, provide a sensory calming environment, actively listen, and always remind you to take care of yourself is what will keep you feeling connected to me. I have spent the last 8 years working in community mental health and I have worked with clients needing extensive treatment. This has allowed me to see just how amazingly resilient people are and how they overcome such difficult times in their life. I feel that one of my biggest strengths as a counselor is seeing the glass half full even when times are very difficult. I have been through extensive training with clients that are feeling extremely hopeless and I have been able to see these clients not only grow but thrive. I feel that making that first connection with you and allowing you to trust me allows growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My background is working in a community mental health facility, so I have worked with clients of many different ages, races, beliefs and backgrounds. I feel the ideal client is someone who understands that both change and acceptance can be very difficult. I feel that being open minded to different perspectives and willing to try different communication styles is helpful for growth.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive behavioral therapy to help you understand that your own thoughts, beliefs, and views on life affect your feelings and actions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical behavioral therapy to treat clients dealing with suicide or hopeless feelings, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and intense emotions. This form of treatment teaches skills to my clients that can be helpful in work, school, home and building/managing relationships.

Attachment-based

I use this form of therapy to explore how early childhood relationships affect emotional and relationship patterns. It is also helpful to heal from relational trauma, overcome unhealthy attachment disorders, and develop secure, trusting relationships and rewire emotional and behavioral healthy responses.

Trauma-Focused CBT

This form of therapy works to help process traumatic experiences, manage distressing emotions, decrease negative thoughts of self, and improve behavioral issues. This form of therapy combines cognitive restructuring and exposure techniques to reduce trauma-related symptoms.
