New to Grow
Hi, I'm Julie! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 7 years of experience providing one-on-one therapy. Reaching out for help is not always easy, but having someone present, engaged and caring on your team can help you navigate life’s challenges. Whether you have lost a loved one, are navigating a significant life transition, or just finding yourself feeling anxious or down, it would be a privilege to support you. I work to create a space that is warm, caring, and non-judgmental for you to be able to share what is messy and real. My method is rooted in the belief that each of us are experts in our own experience. Through this lens we can work together to make the changes you would like to see, whether it is issues arising in this moment or themes you want to explore.
Our first session will be focused on learning about you, the challenges you are currently facing, your hopes or goals for therapy, and exploring together how we might go about achieving them. I'm also happy to answer any questions you might have about the process or my style so you can see if it would feel like a good fit to work together.
Clients have told me that they feel I am warm and deeply invested in them. Having worked with therapists myself, I know how valuable it is to find a good match. I will be your biggest cheerleader, and will also find ways to gently ask hard questions about what might be holding you back, all the while supporting you to feel safe to explore. No matter what you’re bringing to our sessions, I will work with you find peace, make change, and cope with what life brings. Having worked in hospice, I also have a particularly solid practice of working with clients moving through life’s biggest changes. I have provided support to caregivers and those facing grief. I know how unbelievably challenging these chapters of life can be. I am honored to support clients through all the seasons of life, big or small.
I work best with clients who feel they are ready for some kind of change and want the support to figure out how. You may have a sense that something is no longer working, but aren't sure what it is or how to go about creating change. This is a great place for us to start our work together. I also have a particular expertise supporting caregivers and those who have recently lost a loved one. If this is you, I can meet you where you're at, and provide structure for you to move through the myriad feelings that can arise.
Psychodynamic
We often develop beliefs about ourselves early in life that no longer serve us. By looking at present challenges, we can identify recurring patterns and begin to shift what’s getting in the way.
Somatic
Our body holds important information if we learn how to listen to it. Bringing attention to physical sensations can deepen our understanding of our experiences and help guide meaningful change.
Eclectic
Eclectic therapy is a flexible, tailored approach where clinicians select and combine techniques from various therapeutic schools (such as behavioral, psychodynamic, or humanistic) to best suit your specific needs.
