Every person has a story. The culmination of experiences in one's life shapes how they view themselves, their relationships, and the world. I have a passion for helping clients celebrate their unique strengths and gifts they share with others. With experiences in both private practice and hospitals, I have noticed a particular need for clients to separate their view of themselves from their current difficulties and circumstances. In spite of where clients may find themselves at the moment, my belief is that they have overcome every difficulty, challenge, and trauma that they have faced up to the present moment. As such, they will withstand their current circumstances, and will again declare victory.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My first session begins with seeking to better understand my clients' stories; their values, interests, personal goals, relationships, and day-to-day life. With this understanding, I can support my clients in making progress that is respectful of their personal strengths and values. My hope is that clients leave my sessions feeling hopeful, capable, and uplifted. My ideal client is one who is honest, vulnerable, and willing to invest effort towards their personal growth. During sessions, I aim to help provide clarity, greater understanding, and share gentle accountability when it best serves my clients.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My belief is that because every individual is unique, their needs, values, and barriers to progress are also individualized. As such, I take a curious and explorative stance in therapy that allows me to see the world through the eyes of my client. Rather than a one size fits all approach, this process allows me to curate a treatment plan and provide tools that takes into account a client’s values and personal learning style.

My treatment methods

Narrative

My belief is that our experiences from birth to present shape and inform our values and beliefs about life: how we see ourselves, how we see others, and our beliefs about society/humanity. We explore our experiences to highlight uplifting narratives while deconstructing beliefs that create barriers to our progress or personal growth.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

A tool set of practices that help us emotionally regulate, manage stress, and improve our ability to maintain healthy relationships with others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps us explore how our thoughts and emotions in a given situation influences how we act or behave. To change behaviors, we must evaluate and/or change our thoughts or emotions.

Gottman method

Evidence based research that helps couples explore patterns and skills to promote lasting relationships and marriages.

Strength-Based

Exploration of personal strengths, in order to identify how our strengths can help individuals effectively navigate life.
