I’m a culturally competent psychologist who sees each client as a unique individual, not a diagnosis or a category. Whether you’re working through a life transition, a difficult relationship, or specific symptoms, I bring a straightforward, collaborative approach grounded in evidence-based practices, so our work together is both thoughtful and practical. As a first-generation Latina who grew up in a culturally diverse household, I understand the family dynamics, expectations, and mental health stigma that can exist in many Latino families, and how these can quietly fuel unwanted intergenerational cycles. I offer therapy in English, Spanish, or Spanglish, whichever lets you express yourself most naturally, even if that means switching between languages mid-sentence.

I work best with people who are curious about themselves and ready to do the work of growing.

I work best with people who are curious about themselves and ready to do the work of growing. I believe curiosity is the first step, and the rest will follow.

First session

Come ready to tell me your story. If this is your first time putting it into words, the session may feel a bit discombobulating, and that’s actually a great sign. It means you’re getting started. Most people feel a sense of relief once the ball is rolling, which is why I recommend a frequent cadence at the beginning, especially if this is your first time in individual therapy or you’re returning after a break from it.

Strengths

My sessions don’t feel like a clinical textbook. I’m grounded in evidence-based practices, but I’m also real, direct, and collaborative. I treat you as the expert on your own life, and I bring in my own cultural knowledge and lived experience to help things make sense, without ever imposing my beliefs or telling you who to be. I hold space for whatever you’re carrying, and I also know when to push back. I call it therapeutic challenging: gently pointing out patterns or choices that may not be serving you, not to confront you, but to help you see them clearly. Because I understand how mental health stigma, family expectations, and unspoken rules can shape the way we communicate, I can help you find your own voice and a sense of self that isn’t weighed down by shame or guilt. My goal is to empower you to keep growing, with tools and insights that keep working long after our sessions end.

Ideal clients

I work best with curious, self-aware adults ready to grow. Many of my clients are navigating parenting challenges, workplace stress, or major life transitions, especially women moving through new chapters. I also support individuals untangling family and cultural identity, and those healing from narcissistic abuse. If you’re ready to understand yourself and create lasting change, we’ll be a good fit.

Treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My foundation is person-centered and humanistic. In practice, that means you’re the expert on your own life, and we move at your pace, around what matters to you. If you’ve never been in therapy, I won’t hand you a script or a label. You’ll be heard, respected, and treated as a whole person, not a diagnosis. From there, I integrate other evidence-based modalities as needed, tailoring tools and techniques to your needs, your story, and what’s showing up in the moment. Your therapy is built for you, not pulled from a textbook.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

When it’s a good fit, I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you notice the thoughts and beliefs driving how you feel and act.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Therapy to help you clarify what you want to change and build on strengths you already have.

Attachment-based

For intergenerational trauma, I use attachment-based therapy to explore how early relationships and family patterns shaped the way you connect with others and with yourself. Together, we trace what was passed down, decide what you want to keep and what you want to release, and build healthier, more secure ways of relating.
