I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Bachelor's in Social Work at UTEP and my Master's in Social Work at NMSU. Carmen Gentry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Bachelor's in Social Work at UTEP and my Master's in Social Work at NMSU. I have over 10 years of experience in Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, Crisis Intervention, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. I have worked with both Adults and adolescents I provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment for you to Discover Yourself. Are you experiencing interpersonal struggles, feeling anxious, depressed, or going through a life transition? Together with therapy, you will discover a new narrative and solutions as you create a new path as you walk the journey of Life
During the first session, I will be completing a complete clinical assessment, which includes both past and present history, including family history. Also, the presenting problem and together collaborate for follow-up appointments.
My strengths as a therapist are that I am an active listener, I can also genuinely connect with my clients to understand their experiences, and I also provide a safe space with a non-judgmental environment.
My Ideal client is motivated and ready to engage in the therapeutic process and openly communicates. A client who does not cancel freguently. I best serve ages 13 to 100 years. I believe I am best positioned to serve anyone who recognizes there is a need for change, perhaps to lifelong patterns or their coping skills. I provide a safe environment for a client to discovery thierselfs.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Help clients identify and challenge distorted thinking patterns, replacing them with more functional, realistic thoughts. I have 10 years of experience with CBT
Strength-Based
This is a positive approach that focuses on the client's strengths and resilience used to increase self-esteem and refocus from negative self-beliefs
Psychoeducation
For 10 years, psychoeducation has been provided to normalize experiences, teach coping skills, and reduce stigma
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is used to manage emotions and teach 4 core skills, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and and interpersonal skills.
