Patrice is a licensed clinical social worker with experience providing mental health services to children, teenagers, and adults affected by psychological trauma, HIV/AIDS, and chronic mental illness. Patrice received further training in trauma-focused CBT for children and adolescents while a therapist at a DC mental health agency. She also was trained in mental health practice for human trafficking survivors through the Maryland Human Trafficking Task Force.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then discuss what goals you want to work on to address the issues you face. This will help me tailor your sessions in a way that aligns with your specific life circumstances.
Patrice utilizes expressive arts interventions when relevant for the client to support their achievement of counseling goals. These interventions include the use of books and literature to identify and express overwhelming feelings, or the use of music to promote relaxation and mindfulness.
I partner with individuals who feel overwhelmed by emotions such as anxiety and depression or who struggle with having a positive view of themselves due to traumatic histories.

From my very first session, [Patrice Forrester] created a non-judgmental and safe space where I felt comfortable sharing things I’ve never told anyone else. Their warmth and genuine empathy helped me to open up and begin my healing process without fear. "In just a few sessions, Ms Patrice provided incredible clarity and practical tools I could actually apply to my day-to-day life. I left every session feeling more grounded and equipped to handle my trauma and etc.
