Shehram Majid
Hi! I’m originally from Houston, TX and completed my medical school training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. I began my internship in Internal Medicine/Psychiatry at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and then transitioned to New York Medical College/Metropolitan Hospital to complete the remainder of my psychiatry residency. In September 2022, I became board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I work with patients struggling with general anxiety, depression, grief, family and relationship issues, college/early adulthood struggles, and career changes.
First session
During our first session, we will work on creating a treatment plan that holistically addresses the various contributors in your life that have led to you seeking out care. We will discuss length of treatment, potential graduation paths from treatment, and how we can work towards you living a happier and more fulfilling life.
Strengths
I practice whole person centered medicine, which combines traditional medication management with holistic interventions that include evidence informed herbal/plant based supplements, lifestyle changes, talk therapy, and mind-body wellness that is all aimed to holistically help you achieve your goals. I take time to build rapport with my patients and understand the multifaceted challenges they are facing in their lives and how they are contributing to their mental health symptoms.
Ideal clients
I work with individuals facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, ADHD, grief, family and relationship struggles, identity struggles, and life transitions. I have also worked extensively with people navigating the impact of dysfunctional family systems, childhood emotional neglect, and domestic abuse.
