Hello! Welcome to my website. I want to first and foremost give you a warm welcome for being here, and I want to invite you to learn more about me. My name is Diana Lleras, my pronouns are she/her, and I have been practicing psychotherapy since December 2014. I have a master's of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. I also hold an Evergreen certificate in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and I am currently working toward certification in Attention Deficit Disorder, Grief Counseling, Holistic Practices, Telemental Health, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems, and Brainspotting.  I help people heal from past traumas and core childhood wounds, and we can also explore coping mechanisms you may want to change to better manage past trauma. I like to work collaboratively in the counseling setting where we decide together how I can best support you in your healing journey. I'm trained in protocols and structured treatments if you prefer structure, and I can also meet you where you are if you prefer a more flexible approach.  In my work as a counselor, it is very important to me to respect you and your autonomy as a person. My counseling office is a judgment-free zone, and everyone and their parts are welcome regardless of race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender identity, immigration status, and political ideology. Soy bilingüe en inglés y español.

Strengths

I work collaboratively with my clients. We are working together to accomplish your goals. I can hold space for you while also challenging you to be your best.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is anyone who wants to work on themselves and has an open mind. I encourage my clients to have open communication with me. I welcome feedback and am very flexible. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to explore challenges, build insight, and set goals at your own pace. Together we will focus on growth, self-compassion, and practical tools you can use in daily life.

Treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help you learn to work with symptoms instead of against them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I can help you change thought patterns to change how you feel. I can also help you with you if you are experiencing insomnia with CBT-I.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I can teach you skills to help with mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

EMDR

I can help you process trauma using bilateral stimulation. I can also use Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting to help with this.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I can help you with OCD symptoms by using exposure therapy.
