I provide psychotherapy and counseling for individuals struggling with anxiety; a history plagued with substance use, abuse, and addiction; relationship difficulties; past trauma; and the effects of dysfunctional family relationships. If you are struggling in your personal or work relationships, if you are finding it hard to adjust to loss or trauma, or if you are finding it difficult to cope with the demands of everyday life, I can offer help in dealing with today's struggles--and hope for facing future challenges. I will work alongside you as you learn new ways to find success and happiness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will include a brief overview and explanation of confidentiality between client and therapist, and I will ask questions about your reasons for seeking therapy and your hopes and expectations for the process. My intention is to build rapport and listen actively to get to know you and learn about your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is predominately strength-based and trauma informed, with a good dose of cognitive behavioral therapy integrated in what I do in order to ensure active participation and meaningful measurable change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients with a diverse background and especially young adults who are navigating an ever-changing array of relationships and roles. I have a background in trauma informed therapy that seems to resonate with this population. I use a unique blend of CBT, trauma informed CBT, family systems, and client-centered therapy to assist my clients in empowering themselves in all avenues of life, love, and work.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize an integrative approach and find that the techniques inherent in CBT help clients to learn more about how they can actively improve their emotional wellbeing by adjusting their negative thoughts and behaviors. Many of us are unaware of how automatic thoughts impact our daily actions and beliefs, and even minor changes in negative thinking can lead to dramatic shifts in how we see ourselves. I teach the basic tenets of CBT and assist my clients in practicing specific techniques in order to effect change and experience personal growth and understanding.

Trauma Informed Care

My practice focuses on ways that trauma can impact our self-identity and interactions with others--especially with family members and in intimate relationships. I am always sensitive to the possibilities of a history of trauma and how to assist my clients in understanding themselves more fully by gently and carefully exploring their current emotional status through the lens of their past experience.
